Another fuel related problem ???

Here's an other fuel related problem that puzzles me.
1988 K5 with TBI.
Recently replaced parts : sparks plugs, spark plug wires, coil, rotor, distributor cap, CO sensor, fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pump relay.
The problem is that at times the engine does not start, as no fuel supply.
Ones the engine runs, there is no problem at all, but you turn it of and if you are lucky, it starts again.
Therefore I replaced the fuel pump, fuel relay, fuel filter.
When I replaced the fuel pump, I've noticed that sometimes there's no current coming on the wire.
Same starting problem still keeps happening at times.

What can this be ???
Anyone any ideas ???

I would check all the wires and see is a wire is grounded somewhere on the frame or under the hood. Even if you replaced the fuel pump if the wires are corroded or partially cut it will cause the problems you've mentioned. Also see that no fuel lines are pinched or restricted in any way. I hope this helps you pinpoint the problem

When you measure the fuel pump voltage, where r u measuring it? Try measuring it right at the fuel pump relay socket. I think you will find that your FP relay socket is bad or the wire running to the pump is bad. Also check your sending-unit ground wire.

<font color=blue>What about a fuel pump cutoff relay, or I know on some vehicles that they a wire hooked up to the oil pressure switch as a safety feature for the fuel pump. Try to find out what your cutoff is. I would start with the basics though, I am not saying that this is the problem, just something to think about. - Steve</font color=blue>
