my buddy's TH400 took a crap on him the other day in his 87 R30 Dually, so he's looking to put the spare 465 he's got laying around in it. he wants to convert to a hydro clutch, since he has the pedals laying around. i've located a bellhousing for the project. will the mechanical clutch fork work? or will it need to be changed? how about the throwout bearing?

Both the throwout bearing and fork are hydraulic specific unfortunately.

But they shouldn't be that hard to find even new, nor very expensive.

i've looked up part numbers for the swap, and have found all but the hose. anybody got the PN for the hose?

I was looking for a hose 2 weeks ago, the only ine I found was at the dealer for $85. I found the pn on this site somewhere( sorry dont rember it). I ended up getting one made localy with a replacable 10000psi hyd hose for $65.

A mechanical fork has a foward offset in it. The hydraulic one is almost flat across the body. The ball stud has a grease hole, I have a spare in a factory bag if you need that number.

I got my hose at the dealer too. I figured it it was worth the piece of mind
napa could also make one if you have the specs

i thought the throw out bearing was the same between hydro and mechanical. i know there is a difference between diaphram and 3 finger bearing. the fork is different though, hydro is flat, mechanical is bent toward the front.
the line i bought at carquest for $55, had to order it, but had it the next day, don't know the part number

Not to hi-jack, but is the hydro bellhousing the same between 2 and 4 wheel drive, or are there 4 wheel drive specific bellhousings??

Thanks.

Hydraulic Hose (master to slave cylinder) GM#: 15537760

$48.50 from gmpartsdirect. Probably $60 after shipping, still less by far than the local dealer, no big surprise there.

Parts manual says 15590168 for the bearing, but GMPD says it's no longer available. At least you can compare with older if you can find a non-hydraulic part number.
