Another Mud Video

Video from mud racing last night. I got put in Modified class with my black Stepside and was the only Street driven truck that wasnt towed there in that class. Also in my class was an extended cab Toyota with a 383 stroker that I knew would totally blow everyone away, so I knew I didnt have a prayer. But me and my friend Wayne went out just to have fun. He took "Herbie on Steroids", and was also in the Modified class.

I had to run that extended cab silver Toyota twice, and lost twice. Sure I could make excuses and say that I had the slightly slower lane those two times, but hey, that Toyota is way faster than me running a 5500lb truck with 1 gear with a 4spd manual.

I still managed 2nd place and won $100 and my friend won 3rd Place with "Herbie". And I drove mine home with no problems and nothing broken afterwards so it was a fun night.

Would have been interesting if you had a chance to race that Toyota from the left lane the second time...

I had a couple other guys come up and say that I may have had a chance with the lanes switched. I guess even the guy with the Toyota was worried when he raced me cause I talked with him afterwards and he said he was really worried about getting thrown out of the ruts and hitting a wall and slowing down. He was a nice guy though, the type that you dont mind losing to.

My Stepside is the truck that I bought being told it had 5.13 gears but after running it I had assumed that the guy maybe hadnt told me the truth cause it acts like it has 4.10's in high range and I can drive it down the freeway with 36's. But recently I finally pulled the front cover after bashing it open on some rocks and found out it does have 5.13 gears. In my mind in 4-high and 2nd gear (2nd meaning not low gear but 1st gear) with that gear ratio should still be really slow, but it seems to do ok.
