Another Newbie question...torqconverter?

What torque converter sould I be using on a truck that does some road and some trail? I like power when I step on the 454! I'm also not a heavy rock crawler, I like mud and high altitude. Speaking of which the 454 does not run well at altitude- jetting/tuning ideas/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I am going to have the trany overhauled and want to get the right torq converter in it.
