Engine idles wonderful but dies with any throttle actuation. Vacuum problem?Typical chevy 350 installation.

Have you adjusted your fuel enrichmet screw on the computer box? There are a bunch of adjustments you have to do to the ECM to make ProJection run right.

Instructions to;d me to flatten out all my adjustment screws, run the engine then adjust. I cant run the engine past idle.

Well, since it doesn't seem there are many here that have a lot of direct knowledge that may help, lets go generic. :)

Have you called Holley? That would be my first step.

Since it's the weekend, and you probably can't, does the engine actually die at anything other than idle, or can you get it to increase RPM's with very slow throttle progression? How is the timing?

More issues now!!!! Why would my engine idle good for a couple minutes then quit. with out doing anything? Ive tried adjusting all the adjustments on the ecm but nothing changes it. Sometimes it will idle for 5 minutes just fine, others about 30 seconds then die.??? Any other suggestions?

It does seem like when cold it starts right up idles fine then when warmer is when the problems occur. It has a brand new temp sensor.

Again it doesn't help knowing how the Projection system works unfortunately. :(

Do you have an interface with the system? Does this use a MAP sensor? What happens if you disconnect it?

lean and mean

Think I may have got it, The tps needed the voltage increased to allow yhe projection to run a little richer. It ran good when cold because the fast idle was operating the system. When the truck warmed up, the fast idle quit and the fuel mixture changed. Just runnin too llean.:doah:

Interesting. You'd think TPS to be a base value, but I guess maybe that's what you set? Runs good all around now?

I'll take her out for a good drive tomorrow. Stay tuned :)

Thread revival -

So how'd the drive go? Do you still have the projection on & what do you think?

I'd like to know because I have a projection setup in my basement, but have been hesitant to install it because of all the issues I'd heard about.

Later,
Buddy

Runs wonderful! Turns out the whole time I was also fighting my vacumm advance in the distributer. Takes a little fine tuning and patience but all in all good to go. I love not even touching the gas pedal to start the truck when its cold. Im not sure of the elevation in buffalo but here at the mile high, my tps likes .75 volts. Get in touch when your ready to insall and i certainl could lend a helping type o.

Sounds great!! I haven't heard many good things about it, but I got it in a trade. I figured I could either sell it ofr use it. Now just need to get going on it.

I'll definitely be in touch.

Thanks,
Buddy
