what yrs had the 205 that uses the figure 8 adaptor? i have a 1980 205 does it have this figure 8 adaptor, i've never paid that much attention to where that adadtor bolt ...i thought they where all the same.

Yes, '80 should be a figure 8. The round adapters weren't until the last few years of production, if I'm not mistaken.
