wounded in action...
I've had my share of self inflicted wounds while fixing my junks...and others!''
I've had u-joints shatter in the hydraulic press at work--thought I got away scot free--but a few minites later I saw blood near my navel--a large piece of shrapnel was sticking out of my stomach!..it went it about 1/2"--I dug it out with tweezers, but had to go to the ER a few days later when I realized not all of it came out--and it turned black, because it was getting infected!

..
While removing an exhaust manifold on a 350,I rammed the forearm side of my wrist where all the tendons are into the metal bracket made of sheet metal for the A.I.R. tubes deep into that area..I still have the scar, that was about 2 years ago..probably never go away..it was rusty too--glad I didn't get tetnus..
I also got a peice of steel in my eye at work when a drift punch shattered when I hit it with a hammer..the steel started to rust while it was imbedded in my eye--2 days later,I had to go have it DRILLED out at an eye doctor..costly and VERY painful--had to wear a patch for several days, and I still have problems with it--same eye was douched with a gallon of school bus yellow acrylic enamel paint that got thown out of a paint shaker as I was rushing to shut it off--hit me right in the forehead, and the whole gallon got me in the face and eyes, and my hair..and I wonder why I feel like I'm going blind now..
One of the worst injuries I've gotten lately was when I was using a cutting torch to cut a bolt off--and the 3/4" head glowing bright orange dropped right down my shirtsleeve, and it sank into my forearm like a hot nugget on ice!..that was nearly a year ago,I still have a noticeable scar, and a times it still hurts like it happened a few weeks ago!

..I hate it when hot slag goes down your boots or shirt..or worse, your CROTCH!

..
I lost a thumbnail once when I slammed my GTO's trunklid shut, and my hand was not fully out of the way!..the trunk locked too,and I nearly broke my thumb trying to use my left hand to reach in my right pocket and get the keys into the trunk lid lock again,so I could get it out!..I yelled at the top of my lungs when that occurred--I was hoarse after that!..the entire thumbnail turned black as coal, and fell off a few days later..I was in agony for about 3 months before it finally grew back and didn't hurt anymore..I HATE getting wounded while working on vehicles--and its seldom if ever that I don't!--like another said--if I aint bleeding,I must have done it WRONG..
