Another shackle flip kit

I refuse to buy anything on eBay from someone named Zeke.

why waste the money on someone's home grown creation? You can get ones that you know work, and have been proven to work by many members here for a lot less!

Pre-lock pad.

I can see this thread is gonna go the same direction as that other thread about the home made flip.

There are many different after market kits available but not as cool looking as this

That says it right there. I'll take my 1/4" plate ORD shackle flip ... plain, not cool looking, and FUNCTIONAL. (Nothing against DIY4X's ... I bought mine back in the Dark Ages before I knew about Kert :haha: )

all that extra fab work to do the same thing.:doah:and you have to drill a bunch of extra holes in the frame.

I'm no fabricator so I can't say if all that extra tube and the supports would actually benefit anything but to me it just looks like a mall crawler/show truck "look how beefy my truck is" setup.

Haven't heard of a rash of rear shackle hangars breaking...even from the most hard core guys on here.

"correct the ugly pinion angle created by using lift blocks "

I currently have blocks and am trying to picture in my head how flipping the shackle would make for a better pinion angle... Can someone enlighten me, because I think my pinion angles suck!

The shackle flips rotate the axle, like a shim would, because the front of the leaf spring stays put and the back gets moved down ~4-5". This rotates the pinion UP ... which may or may not be a good thing in any given instance.

Blocks -- assuming they're straight, i.e. not angled -- just move the axle straight down without changing pinion angle.
