I am going to shackle flip my blazer. i was planning on just cutting a hole in the bottom of the stock perch. would it be strong enough if I did just that? I was thinking of reinforcing it with some steel, welding it from the bottom up to the top of it at kind of a 45 degree angle. I just cant see going out and dropping $185 on an ORD shackle flip. any pics of what people have done? would be nice- thanks alot.

I bought a Sky shackle flip when they were on sale for about $100.

Regarding cutting out the stock hanger, a lot of people have done that. The problem is you really need to reinforce the bracket since you are removing a large portion of the metal that holds everything together, especially if you want to have enough room for the shackle to move around. The other issue that the shackle will not be at a good angle...all of the aftermarket brackets move the frame to shackle mounting location forward to correct the angle.

I am also intrested in this .. does any one have any pics?????

This is what I plan on doing, but I am going to be using 56" springs. So I shouldnt have a problem with shackle angle.

are sky flips different from ORD? Im almost thinkin if im gonna do it, do it right. where can i find sky products?

If you want to do it right, come off the money and go with ORD. Couldn't be happier with my flip...
