another soft top question for you softtopper guys

I just finished installing my new softtopper, and I have to say it was worth the money. This thing is pretty sweet. The only complaint thus far is the instructions (or lack thereof)

Anyway, do you guys get a lot of noise on the windshield (from air coming in between the header bar and the top itself)? My top sounds like a tornado. I still have to put the gasket on the windshield frame, but I do not thing this will help a tremendous amount.

I am actually considering trying to find a "bug-deflector" that will be somewhat similar to the windshield shape to cut down on the wind

yea, my 74 is the same way even with the gasket installed. You may also get some water coming in at highway speeds. Mine does. Good idea of the wind deflector, may have to look into that.

I just put one on my 73 and I do get some wind coming through but its not audible over the othere sounds the top makes (flapping). I can definitely feel the air coming in through.

In total, its definitely quieter than the hardtop was.

I have yet to put a soft top on my 72, but I did take the top off and it is much quieter than having the hard top on. Check out the thread intitled 'bikini top' in this section. it has a cool idea for a bracket ont top of the windshield.
