well ever sice i have gotten my truck i have had bad luck withe the speedos, the first one was crap and i switched it with onother one, well this"new" one goes crazy im like going 50mph and its pointing at the 90mph, and it just moves around constantly. do u have to lube it or something??? it seems the bearings are loose?????:confused::confused:help me plez!!!!! I DONT WANT TO START MY FIST MONTH WITH A LICENSE BT GETTING A SPEEDING TICKET!

Mine does it once in awhile on a very chilly morning . Then goes back to normal after awhile . Just an OLD truck :thumb:

on any cold morning mine reads much much higher like 20 mph high and has a loud screeching sound until the truck warms up after 5-10 minutes then it goes away...pretty embarassing with people in the truck, no idea how to "fix" it though honestly. Only happens when it's 40 degrees or lower out usually.

Mine has done it FOREVER, have no clue why. I just take the middle area of the bounce and say that is my speed.

I have gauged myself with my laptop GPS , and I am pretty sure I am golden .

Was almost tempted to make new markings on the gauge instead of redoing the speedo gears in the case :wink1:

You swap the gauge out . Live with it . Or send it into a speedometer repair shop . There are too many things to **** up in there .

I wouldn't hesitate to rewire a truck , tear a transfercase apart , etc . But no one tears apart their speedos :thumb:

Mine bounced around wildly at highway speeds for a really long time. I always just went by the tach until something internal in the speedo exploded and it stopped working. After getting quotes of ~$200 to rebuild the stock unit, I bought an autometer electric unit and vss for about the same $. Infinitely adjustable to any gear ratio and tire size, more accurate, etc. I have no regrets :D

Well Today My Friend Gave Me A Guage Cluster Off Of His Dads Old Truck And I Switched Out The Speedo And Some Lights And Now I Know How Fast Im Going.:) Its Marking 5 Mph Too Fast But Its Better Than The Last One, Cant Complain. So Next Is To Fix The Gas Float In The Tank So I Will Know How Much Gas I Have!lol
