Another stupid CL add.....

The aluminum wheels on the '85 K20 I bought a few weeks ago has very rusty wheels. No kidding. Not even pressure washing will clean them. The PO lived on a dirt/sand road so the wheels got a daily sandblasting for over 20 years.

I'll get pics of the wheels up close if I can remember to take the camera to the shop.

And to make it worse, Weld is bad about their wheels "rusting". Just wished they would clear coat their polished wheels so they last longer.

I have never in my life seen an aluminum wheel rust, from Alcoa to Weld to Eagle. Welds are easier to keep shiny than most other brands.

aluminum does oxidize. its not rust exactly. but when it does it turns white and powdery.

Crappy stuff too. My old suburban wheels were stuck on something fierce with the white oxidation stuff between them and the hub. Took a sledge hammering to the tire to get them off.
