another tranny length question

i searched, but i cant find an answer to this..im probably just over tired but i have a 700/208 right now and i want to swap to a 465/208...i was curious how long both of the combos are? im hoping i can keep my CV shaft im using now.

I've got a 465/ 208 combo at home, if no one else chimes in before, I'll measure it for you this afternoon.

I forgot all about it yesterday , measured it today, but, unfortuately my bellhousing is not here. The trans is approx 12" long and the adapter and slip yoke 208 are 26.5" , so 38.5" plus the bellhousing. I can check a bellhousing tomorrow if no one else knows the measurement.

Bell is exactly 6" deep.

IIRC that 465/208 is the same length as the 700R-4/208. GM got a bit smarter in later years and just varied the adaptor lengths so they could cut down on the different driveshaft lengths needed for production.

sm465 used a thicker yet same length rear drive shaft. They are the same length but i used the auto cross member due to exhaust clearance. Just finished my 700r4 to sm465 swap. need help let me know.

Yeah, you can reuse your stock drive shafts. I have done a couple of these now (TH700R4/NP208 to SM465/NP208 swaps).
