I am possibly going to swap a 6.2 into my trailrig and cant decide on a trans .
I just rebuilt the th350 it has now and was wondering if I could swap in a th400 TC ? I also have a 465 and th400 .... Will the th350 survive ?
The trailrig currently has a crate 305 which I think rocks and everyone that says they are gutless is a powerhungry.... well i shant continue this sentence , lest I be sentenced ....

Well if your traill rig has a healthy 305 the th400 would defiitely be a safe route.
The th350 should be able to handle even a built 305 but if I had both I would probably go with the th400.
The difference in first gear between the 2 is not that great.
Some will argue the th400 will rob you power, on off road I don't see that much of a problem.
Now if you are like me and like the Manual go 465, bullet proof.

i don't think that torque converters are transferrable between tranny types. i could be wrong tho.

If you crawl go with the 6.2/465...damn near unstoppable combo IMO.

Prolly true, I found sand and stuff to be a bit of a pain even when I had my 350 backed by the SM465. Auto's rule in the dunes...but as I said if you're mostly rock crawlin the 465 behind the 6.2 is a swanky combo even without a doubler.

Well since I didnt buy the 72 with the 465 I may swap the 6.2 into the trailrig with the th350 and put the 465 or 4500 in my m1008 CUCV .....:o
