Good evening guys,

So ankle issues is forcing me to deal with reality. I have a 1978 K5 with the following, and up front the TH400 is having an issue, and doors are rusted I have a complete set of spare doors. they have the speaker holes cut into them. usual rust on rockers- I have new rockers as well It down shifts at 2000 rpm, so it needs to be looked at for sure. I have the hood it is off
I know list out what it has, and show some pics
So here we go

1" ORD Body lift with new bushings
New Tuff country 4" EZ ride lift with the shackle flip in the rear and the FUSH up front greaseable bushing bolts. Zero rates- new u-bolts and plates
Dana 60 4.56 RP oout of a cucv-Posi something Front with REID outer "C"'s king pin bushing eliminators- ORD spring less steering arms- new bearings - brakes-stock axles new u-joints. New ORD cross over steering- new PSC hydro assist- new ball joints- ORD extended brake lines-Ruff stuff RP diff cover
14-Bolt rear axle- 4.56 detroit locker out of a cucv- Ruff stuff Diff Cover- disk brake conversion- ORD extended brake line
TH400 was rebuilt but the shifting issue is happening-this has new torque converter- TCI manual/automatic valve body-so it locks into 1st and 2nd yet in drive is like a std. auto.
Both drive shafts brand new- built by Englewood drive shaft in colorado-both have CV joints at the T-case
New allied 32 bolt true steel beadlocks 17" with new 37-12.50 x 17 Hancook MT no spare
ORD NP203/205 double again brand new- 205 was rebuilt by mud dogs- rotated up 2"
Brand new- super topper top
New front and rear bumpers - with new never used X20 12K winch on the front
Engine is a 454 stock-ish- I was told the owner put in a 262 grind cam- added a dual plan intake and a edlebroak carb- oil pressure is a constant 45-50PSI- New radiator and hoses- New MSD A9L ignition box- new plugs-wire etc. new red top battery.
Autometer gauges-stock interior
So what do you all think- it served it's purpose for me allowed me to wrench some more and spend some money. I'm sure I'm missing some things, but the above is the highlights

Nice looking rig. The reality is, most of the time with these rigs you will get more money if you are willing to take the time to part the truck out. Most of us want the parts more than the whole rig. Especially since it sounds like its having some tranny issues, you probably wont get as much as you would like since it seems like you have put some cash into it.

So speaking of that, if you do want to part it out or at least sell some stuff off it like bumpers, or other things like that...send me a PM. I'm local to you and live down in Castle Rock. I would be interested in some stuff if you decide to do that. :thumb:

I thought about parting it out, and may do that. I know I would never get back what is in it, this filled some other needs for me that a price could not be put on it. Well a therapist I guess could... I will for sure keep you in mind, if I decide parting it out is the best route.

i have $13k worth of parts into my truck. i did the labor so still..
I had it on CL for $9500, $9k, $8k, $7k, $6k, $5k, $4500....

kept dropping the price lower and lower... so now I am getting people asking me stuff like this...

hey man is you truck still available? is it complete? (think they are asking as $4500 is cheap)...
then they say..

I was curious if you wanted to trade for my 1986 dodge cummings flatbed. Needs injectors, blah blah blah...

I reply.. no, sorry sold....

so tough selling these...

4500bucks is cheap I know you have done this a million times but lets break it down quick

1.Axle set 1500
2. Tranfer Case 1000
3. Motor/Transmission 1000
4. Wheels/Tires 1500

theres your money right there and you still have the body/ interior/ bumpers

My advice would be put new doors on it paint it and you have a 8k blazer on your hands without a doubt
