I have a Question for anybody in the know. I am replacing or repairing my old radiator (depending on the cost), and I will be flushing the system. My question is should I go with the new type (DEX-Cool) of Anti-freeze or stay with the old green. Also what are the benefits and drawbacks of each type. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I tend to like the old school green for my BB i flushed mine for winter and i have had no problem with the green!!

NO LOCKER, STOCK GEARS, NO PWR BRAKES, NO POWER STEERING, NO PROBLEM!

HIT IT FULL CHICKEN!!!!

Stay awya from dex cool unless you like the smell of burning piss. No kidding.
Stay with the old green. My bro is GM Tech(mechanic) and knows his [censored], he's seen motors that have very corroded with dex cool in them.
Once you use Dex Cool though, and cars/trucks that are using it now you should not go to green.

Do some research online, apparently there were or are some problems with the dex-cool. I could never really deceipher the heresay from fact, so I think I will just not use it.

Supposedly some benefit to the water pump since there is no silica in the dex cool, but with the green stuff water pumps tend ot last 100,000+ miles anyways.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

UH OH! I used GM's Dex Cool in mine. I dont like it and had planned to flush it all out and replace w/ the old green. Maybe Ill hurry up and do it sooner. The only reason I dont like it, is because it looks rusty. Even tho I know its clean, I still trip out when I open the cap.

If ya can't stop.......Smile as you go under!
