Alright i have been doing a ton of research with how to build a proper anti-wrap bar. I have looked at DIY''s ORD's and other home brew designs to get an idea of what i need to do. It seems the simpliest to me would be a traction bar with a shackle on the cross memeber. However my question is. How do i go about measuring for the correct length of traction bar and the shackle it will be rotating on? Do either of these measurements truely matter? I do not want to limit flex.. just want to get rid of my axle wrap and wheel hop. The cross member would be somewhere near my transfer case in my 87 k5 w/ a 350/700r/208. Just wanted to do this right the first time and not hinder my trucks performance! thanks guys.:D

Why don't you just build a triangulated 3 link or something to that effect?

i am going to basically copy ORD's and build my own... just didnt know if the shackle part has to be a certain length or the actual arms had to be a certain length to prevent binding in the suspension while flexing.

this is exactly what i want to build, but instead of ORD bushings.. i want to use heim joints to not have any limit on flex.. the placement of heim joints would be the awesome red paint... what u guys think?

ah that one is perfect!... what size heim you think that is tho?

what ever you use make it a large one. 3/4 min. I would think, overkill is just overkill, underkill equals breakage.

The length of the anti-wrap bar is very relevant. The longer it is the better it will work.

The longer the shackle the more vertical travel you can have. Unless you are building a desert racing truck with tons of vertical travel you probably won't make the shackle too short.

I would look at Currie's johnny joints or ballistic fab's flex joints.
