any advice on replacing a fuel pump on a 98 c1500?

this is my 6 am morning project... got the new fuel pump. any things else to be done why im there that makes sense to do? thanks

Pull the bed off. Alot easier than trying to fight the tank. When I did mine, I unbolt the bed and use a cherry picker to pick up that side.

Don't use a carter pump and I prefer the tank method. Good idea to do fuel filter too.

ok why? i have a carter pump. tank method? you mean drop it down?

Just save the receipt, they have a history of failure, and yes, just pull the tank, or what ever is easier for you, but the tanks come out easy

ive had better luck with the Delphi pumps, which is a factory replacement, becides delco
