Thinking about buying a painless setup. Tired of trying to solder 25+ year old wire and get it to work correctly.

Do you think it's worth the price.
The one for 73-87 pickups is $650.00 thru summit.

No I reward my 73 with hot rod wires kit. I took the time to use the junction block because it does not. The block at the firewall is what I am talking about. This was a while ago but the kit was less than 150 although it does not include everything. It does have almost everything

I used a painless on my 71 and loved it, but it was only about 400 a couple years ago.

Yea I can't decide, I'm not a fan of the price but the minimal wiring you have todo is kinda making me lean towards buying it.

Plus it's easier to cut and splice my engine harness into new wires that are pre labeled and stuff.

Idk anyone heard of anything bad about painless products

Ive never used a painless but I would say that if you're retarded at wiring like me and the painless is 100% plug in and go then its probably worth it. If you have to do any splices, add plugs or terminate a few wires on the painless its not that hard to do a few more on a cheaper harness and save some money, so I could only see myself paying that money if its 100% plug in and go.

That being said I used an e-z wire universal harness that I got for $160. Took me a full sunday and a couple nights after work to finish it up and like I said Im retarded at wiring.:doah: Clearly labeled every six inches and the new fuse panel bolted up in the factory fuse panels location without drilling holes. I did have to terminate all the ends and splice a few wires though.

The painless kit comes long and you have to cut to fit and put all the end connectors on

ez wiring harness. thats what i used and it was cheaper than the rest and so easy to install. excellent quality, came with all the plugs and all the wires are labelled.

Edit: I think i paid 120 bucks for it, brand new. I would never spend 500+ on a painless.

Ok thanks man, I'm decent at wiring but still ya never know lol

Most of my trouble was just identifying what colors gm used and what they were for. Ez wiring is actually color matching for gm for the most part, mine basically all matched. And that was a 78 k5
