Dad calls today and says that he found an '89 454 Suburban in the wrecking yard today, so he's stripping all the TBI stuff off of it. He mentioned that it has the serpentine setup on it, but had already left by then and didn't know if it was full serpentine or a "semi" serpentine setup. I assume full, but that's one reason I'm posting. :)

Anyone use this setup? Worth taking? Don't know that he'sd use it since he added a York to his setup, but figured he better keep all options open if it's worth taking. Not a big fan of serpentine myself, but he likes easy, and one belt is easy. :)

Sounds worthwhile to take. You could always sell it on ebay. New BBC serpentine conversion kits are $1k+ new from March Perf and GM.

Just fyi, gmpartsdirect.com has a complete kits (with alt, p/s pump, water pump & a/c comp) available - $769 w/ ac or $532 w/o ac. Don't let him pay too much for the set up. :wink1:

I stand corrected :)
