The pump on the J code is leaking, the pumps look different, but will there be a difference in function??

Any difference in a J code and C code vacuum pump (PICS)

It looks like there is an extra fitting on the C code pump, just cap it off and you should be fine.
I went ahead and used it, no problems. That "fitting" is a hose that runs from front to back.
