I have an order in for an entire bed from Classic Industries. I'm kinda bummed to find out they use a "house brand" called OER. I was hoping for either Woodall or Triplus panels. I've heard good things about Woodall. GMCPaul's sells Woodall panels and I was originally going to order from them, but Classic is local (no shipping) and offered up a 20% discount recently.

Is OER any good? I don't care if they claim it has a GM Approval, that don't mean s*** :doah: I'm wondering if paying the extra $600 for Woodall is worth it? :dunno:

I have no real input other than to say that when I see one panel better than any other aftermarket, I'll believe it..

as far as I've EVER seen, they are all the same Taiwan stampings if not NOS.. Goodmark, vs this vs that, don't mean poo from what I've seen.. all the same, just rebadged by different companies...

This. I don't know OER either, but I agree that they all come from the same plant.

i have seen parts/ panels with 2-3 tags over original with the popular brand names on all of them .

and watch goodmark I think they might be slipping these days . if I recall my 2wd project the goodmark hood was in different brand box and had tiny goodmark name on it in 1 corner . still fit fairly decent tho against the capa certified premium replacement fenders I have on it also .

OER is a licensed supplier of GM approved parts...other than that, who knows?

here is some discussion on the suppliers and some real world experience of using different "brands" of sheet metal...

Well, the one thing going for me is that this is bed related. It may take some opening of holes and filing, but it's just a bed with only two actual body gaps to deal with. The tailgate. When I replaced my front fender I hunted down a really nice factory fender. The body lines up front are much harder to get correct. :/

it's not only the lines/gaps, but also the gauge/quality of the tins too..

ya gotta do what ya gotta do, it's just been the case previously... maybe these are different..
