Any external tire racks that mount to the body instead of the bumper?

I saw a bronco today that had the tire rack mounted to the body instead of the bumper... Any way I could get one of these instead of a bumper mounted one?

I'd like to use the Con Ferr adapter as well to also carry a 5gal jerry can.

Yeah, that was a factory option for Blazers as well. You can probably find one at the junk yard.

I have one on mine. It seams to be pretty sterdy, but I like the bumper mount carriers better, especially if you want to add more weight to it other than the tire.

That a pic of the one on my 76. It was made by Valley Industries. This item is no longer made. It was the "factory" option product. I have found 3 on this site for sale. Run an add in the wanted section and/or keep your eye's on the for sale's. The only problem i had with it, is that it does stress the body a bit. I have one on my 89, It pulled the lower part of the 1/4 panel out a bit. I am going to stiffen it up and run a support to the tail support panel to help reduce flexing.

I've got one out in the garage. You would need to fab up some backing plates to mount it to the body. $50 plus shipping and it's yours. :xmas:
