so this is how it’s all starting..a few years back I put newer sbc heads on an old crate engine I dropped into my 86 jimmy when my valves were all blown to shit...earlier this year my engine started pushing oil out of mult seals and was just undrivable so it’s been sitting since....fast forward to about a week ago I traded a parts car fiero I had for a 5.3 so it pretty much made my mind up to do an engine swap on my Jimmy and bring into modern times with fuel inj and better tune ability....well now I found myself a 2000 2500 donor vehicle with the 6.0 and 4l80e w/ 120000 miles that for what I’d need is complete drivetrain and electric wise for what I feel a good price($850)...so here where I need to know what I’m getting into on....I already know I will need to rework the harness and do some tuning work...a set of motor mount plates..I’ll be getting some scoefield headers for it....what I need to know is my options for using the 4l80,, I currently have a 700/208 combo whic I know will have to go and from what I can tell I’m gonna be wanting the 241c case with pads drop for the vss signal...what options are there for mounting that to the 80e....I’m also debating about yanking out the dash and doing a interior update so that would be an option on handling the gauges and all as well...
