i need some help with my girls 92 honda accord. the driver wiper flys off the side of the windshield at any speed over 30mph, i move the wipers all the way to the bottom of the windshield at the off position, but it still does it, is there some sort of adjustment on the motor to restrict how many degrees it can rotate? i dont know anything about hondas...

PS:if this shouldnt be up here, feel free to delete it guys.

if it is just the drivers side one then just take it completely off then with the passenger side one all u do it reposition it so it does the whole window with just one arm i did it to my CRX its pretty sweet expect in the off postion it is pretty much right in the middle of the passengers eye sight and make sure u get a bigger wiper

I have seen the splines strip before, usually from being used for too long while being loosely attached.

ya, i was thinking about the one wiper "euro" style but i dont think my girl friend would like that too much:rolleyes:, i guess ill just tear into it and try and figure it out, thanks guys!

Honda for 20 years here.

It sounds like the teeth are stripped. Have you checked the tightness of the nut? The way the arm is made, you have to put pressure at the spring joint,in the middle, for it to lay flat on the shaft when you tighten it. Can you move it with the wipers off? The linkages under the cowl are held in place with a little plactic ball socket. They break, but the wiper usuallj just flops around and doesn't move like it is supposed to. I can get you parts cheap, if you need them.

ooo cool, thanks man, that give me some idea of what to do, ya i tightened both down, it moves a little when they are off but i think its the whole linkage moving and not the splines being loose.i heard theres a nut to adjust on the linkage, ill take the cowl off soon and see how the linkage works.when its not a frozen hell outside ill go and take a look at it. thanks again!

There are no adjustments under the cowl. If you loosen everything you can shif it a hair, you shouldn't need to. Before you remove the entire cowl, remove 1 clip and go match it up at Pep Boys or someplace. I doubt you would be able to reuse more than 1 or 2 of the clips. Plastic, that old, breaks.

haha ya i noticed, i tried to take one off about a month ago and it exploded in a shower of plastic. i think ill go pick some of those up. thanks for the tip.
