Ok so im getting my crap together to do the swap to manual hubs.. Naturaly warn and mm come to mind.. I dont have $250 for the prem hubs by warn and mm's look a little to cheap for me... Looking around I find superwinch.. The look good and tough.. $85 bucks aint to bad eather.. Are there any fans in here for super winch? Do they jave a good warrenty?..

I can't speak to the reliability or warranty of the Superwinch hubs, I gave the only set I had away. I can say that they weren't too cheap, and really weren't a lot different from my Warn Premiums. Hopefully blazinzuk will post up with his impressions of them, he has been using them since I gave them to him to replace his auto hubs. Based on what I saw when I pulled them, I would think they should hold up pretty well, at least if you don't heavily abuse them.

had a set on a 10 bolt no problems for few years. but now i run spicers on my 60.

and warn overpriced crap these days if you ask me.

$250!

Look around. Recently saw someone selling a used set of Warn premiums for $50. That's what I paid for my used set two years ago. Lotsa folks going to bigger axles.

...or are we talking for a D60 here?

I've ran all 3 on the same axle. The MM were "OK" but got some water in them and the internals trashed pretty quick. Like, within a week they were sticking BAD after the water. And it wasn't offroad water, it was a semi flooded paved road by the house. The superwinch hubs I replaced them with worked GREAT! Never had a single bit of problem with them. Gave them to a buddy when I put my 8 lug 44 in. That axle uses the older external style Warn Premiums, and they have been spot on for 10 years, never once giving me any problems.

All that being said, I wouldn't think twice about putting another set of SW hubs on anything I owned.

The internals on the premiums are the same as the cheap Warns to my knowledge...

I've got a used set for a 44, pretty sure they're premiums. You could have them for real cheap.

Cheap Warns only have the 1/4 turn while the premiums have 3/4 turn. Not sure how that affects the internals but it has to.

I would run superwinch hubs before warns any day of the week. Only thing that the warn premiums have over em is a solid metal dial.

I ran superwinch on my old blazer for a long time on a 10 bolt ( open) with 38s never had a problem.

Also ran superwinch on my 60 for a while, while I did break em, I also broke an assortment of superwinch warn and milemarker. So it doesn't really say much for hubs in general :D

The hubs are gana be a anniversy gift from my girlfriend.. Talk about love:woot:.. l love playing in the mud and running it thru monter puddles.. I did read mm take in water alot and that was wat I was worried about.. Thats the other thing there not so over priced I can keep another set on hand.. Thanks alot for the info guy.. This place rocks:D

You sure? I thought they were the same...except the knob material. One is chrome ish, the other plastic

I know the low end Warns have the typical short turn of the MM's, SW's, ProComps, etc.

Yah the cheapies are 1/4 turn. I still like mine though. Seem alot nicer than the MMs at least. I could care less about the metal dial for the price of the premiums.

Guess i've got premium's then. Bought them off iceman a while ago, just didnt' remember which they were.

Just put brand new Superwinch in. I've ran all of them and Superwinch are the only ones that I never had a problem with. Only down side is they don't make a service kit anymore.
And you should be able to find them for around $50-$60. Got my last set of eBay 4 weeks ago for $50 shipped.

I have cheap Warns on my 60, they're 3/4 turn.

I haven't had a 44 in a while, so I can't remember what they did.

That's for 10/44's.

I've been running Superwinch hubs for over 10 years now on my K5 and have never had an issue with them.

So my girl got me warn premums:D.. She said she wanted to be sure I had lifetime questions asked... Ok so my next questoon is do I need the kit to put the hub in? I went to the 4x4 pro shop... Old timmer told me I didnt need the kit.. Im just double checking..
