This is an unusual request - I am looking for pics of any M1009 CUCV's out there that are still in Military 3-color paint, but this is where it gets good. I want to see some with 3/4 or 1 ton axles and Humvee Beadlocks running around a 37" tire or so. Anyone have some H1's on a K5?

It's been a long time coming, but I am about to acquire another K5 and want to take a different approach to my build. It is an 84 K5 and not a CUCV, but I plan to give it the treatment by installing all of the garb the Military put on these vehicles, but I want a little lift (B52's & Shackle Flip) and some fender trimming to run some 37" tires.

Many of you probably don't know me, but I am an Old School K5'er from back in the day. Steve, how you been doing man? :p:

Damn its been a long time seeing you around. Here is mine. Not a real CUCV but painted just like one. 52" springs up front and 56" with a DIY4x shackle flip out back. Also a 1" body lift. 38.5 SX's on 15x9 beadlocks.

Looks good Chris. I want to have a little tamer version, but you are definately on the right track. Here's a pic of this Beauty - I have not layed eyes on it, just trying to score it on the cheap. Hopefully I get the deal finished... :D It is supposedly rust free and just needs a trans.

I will do the 3 color paint like yours, strip the intereior; add gadgets and gizmos.

I am just planning on building this one to sell...

Boy, I could repeat the build of my old White K5 with this one though.

this is close enough. 85 m1009 6inch suspension 2inch body dana60/14bolt, bald 38s so that should be about 37s. no beadlocks though. shes retired from offroad as far as im concerned, i got a trailered truck now

Heres my old 1009 bone stock as it came from the army other than 4" front springs and ORD zero rate with axle moved forward 1.5" and ORD shackle flip in rear with 37" MT/Rs on the stock wheels. I wouldnt imagine it would look a whole lot different with blacked out h1's and 1 tons.

Found this rig in the Lift/Tires thread...

That's pretty much the exact combo I am after. I want it to look somewhat like a stock Military Vehicle, but be able to get around fairly decent.

It will get a TH350/NP205 setup with 14B/D44 for now and eventually a D60 if it does not sell right away.

me too... since this thing aint really going to see mud anymore id like to lower it im just to lazy to swap everything back out from under it

Damn...there's a truck almost exactly like you're describing over on www.SteelSoldiers.com . Somebody built it up, posted about it early this year, and then vanished.

Thats my ride, doesn't look exactly like that anymore, added 52's front bumper center, rear bumper, cut fenders, and more body damage.

No...I'm not even sure when it was now that I'm trying to remember. Might have been early this year or might have been early 2007...the forum change isn't helping me either.

If I run across it I'll let you know.
