A buddy of mine is in Gendale AZ, and he got his grandpa’s 1969 440 Coronet that he can’t keep running. I’m going to fly out next spring to help him with it but I’d like him to be able to get it running consistently before the. Beautiful car, black on black, E86 440 Hp 375hp, auto, air grabber hood and all.

Any reputable shops or Mopar guru’s around?

He says it’s almost impossible to start, and he has very little mechanical ability. Looking at the motor and talking to him it still has the points distributor so the points need cleaned and set, and it has the magnum air cleaner on it so I don’t know if it has two fours or three twos. But I would say it’s a combination of ignition and bad gas.

If I'm not mistaken, those heads would have originally been run w/ leaded gas. Any history as to whether or not that has hardened valve seats?
