Hey y'all, since I just got in a wreck 2 days ago, of course Im looking at upgrading my brakes further. Already have hydro-boost, and now Im looking at rear disk's. Just wondering if anyone has come out with any new parts for the disc conversions?

I want an e-brake, when I broke an e-brake cable I absolutely hated parking without it, I know Ive recently seen someone selling the caddy arms & springs besides tsm's own calipers which are $$, anyone know who it is? I was thinking it was mad4wd, but I didnt see em on their site.

Hadn't heard of new arms for the Caddy calipers. Have to post up if you find it.

I think blackwidowperformance was offering the *later* caddy setup with the smaller calipers which are 100 times easier to find. I'm not sure where the post is, but the only problem had been the diameter of the rotors, the info was posted as to a donor. It's a 1/2 ton chev from the "new body" C/K trucks, but can't recall what the exact vehicle was you needed to ask for to get them. I think you end up having to enlarge the hub cutout, but that's not a big deal.

Haven't heard of anyone putting one of these setups together themselves yet, but I've got a pair of the small calipers sitting in my garage that will either end up on my car or my truck.

If you need the arms, springs and linkage stuff for the Caddy calipers, get them from hardoffroad on eBay. I got mine for around $50. Everything is brand new.

Blackbirds has the caddy arms & springs, thats where I saw it, you have to go to their steering & suspension page, for some reason they are listed there. And I am assuming it is for the caddy calipers. Reason I say that is I emailed them and they said they use caddy calipers in their kits, but I didnt see the separate levers & springs till after I had already emailed em.

You can also get the levers from a caddy in the wrecking yard. I think TSM uses the same small caddy calipers I'm running.

Oh and do any of our vendors make custom braided lines since shane74 is gone? Blackbirds only has rubber lines, Im liking their kit otherwise, but the rubber lines, eh, I like my braided ones.

And does anyone know if there is any difference in stopping power between the caddy calipers & the 10bolt calipers?

The rear brake disks are usually smaller than the front since the fronts tend to have to do more work to stop. So if the rear calipers\pads and disks are the same size as the front, you should have more than enough. Lots of the time people add proportioning valves to the rear to turn down the stopping power.

TSM carries braided lines, but I don't think they are custom.

And does anyone know if there is any difference in stopping power between the caddy calipers & the 10bolt calipers?

Well, they use the same pad, or at least the same size. Assuming the piston is the same diameter, I can't see how one would exert more force than the other.

Without knowing more, I would say no, no difference.
