I can get a realy good deal on a used whipple supercharger that is for bti chevys. It is on a 91 bti 350 now. I just want to know if anyone here has had any good luck with these? As far as tuning them goes and all that good stuff. My motor right now is a stock 350 jasper replacment with less than 30k on it so its in good condition. I have a set of headers for it and plan on doing the vortec head swap and the tbi intake to match also a 454 injector set up. I figured a whipple on top would just make it scream. But i know nothing about tuning these tbi motors so i dont know if the computor can be changed up enough to make it run right with the vortec heads, a better cam and a whipple feedin it 6 pounds of boost. Thanks ahead of time for any help!

They have a good rep, never ran one myself.
Its real easy to blow up a motor if you get sloppy with the setup. The more boost, the more power but the shorter the engine life usually.

Right up to the point where you crank it up, punch it, and the crank goes out through the bottom of the pan.........
That is when you know you have too much boost........
But, if you keep it dialed back, you can get good life out of a motor. There have been production cars in the past with supes, and may be some out there now.
Can't think of a model right now.

As for the computer, from what I read here, you can get it reprogrammed to handle just about any setup you can build.
Search the threads, or just wait a little while for someone to jump in with the guy's name that most of them use.
Its 3:00 in the morning, and I am a little fuzzy.

Not thinking too clearly either.......

There is one cost you might not have considered. Its pretty much a given you will have to run premium gas.......

What fouled me up during the install was the a/c bracket has to be from a 93 only for some reason. I'll have to confirm that with my buddy who did most of the work. After that whipple says to record the stock fuel psi and then from that number adjust their vpr according to their specs. I had some issues with that and did not have things where the should have been and smoked a valve...still need to tear it down and see whats up...but yes...they add power...they like timing...but with timing comes ping...and thats not good.
