Any Opinions on this Winch?

seems like a powerful winch and it's got a 5 year warranty, one year on electrical.....i couldn't find how many amps it draws. it sure ain't made in America. i don't think i'd want it uncovered, i read about them taking on water pretty bad too or maybe that was Superwinch........the price sure is good though. i like Ramsey and Warn. if price is the reason, i'd get a good used one and rehab it first.

I've got an XRC8000 on my trailer and I'm gonna buy another one to put on the back of my crew cab when they go on sale at Christmas. They are decent winches for the money, but my main winch will stay a Warn 8274.

It looks like a viper winch.
I just bought one off evilbay for 369.99 free shipping.
For that price if I break it I can by another one for parts.

The specs look good, and if you are like me and will probably go out a couple of times a year to wheel then go ahead and get it.
If you are one of those that goes out every week end and might use it a few times a year or more, then hold of for the tried and true Warn.
I got mine from Harbor freight for $250, and it's a 10k model.

please do!

There's a lot of us cheap f*&#!@s with little $, but like to do dumb s##t with our trucks....could be a good insurance policy...

the 8k smittys get really good reviews. friend has one and has nothing but good things to say about it. I will be picking one up for sure.

I have heard nothing but good things about the little brother the XRC8 the only "complaint" is they are a little bit slow but pull real hard. I have been searching for a winch for a couple of months and in my price range it is either the 12K or a warn M8000. I figure for what i am going to use it for(my 1/2 ton shortbed with 10bolts and 35's it would be a better fit.

Another plug for the xrc8 here. My wheeling buddy has one on his Sami and has used it countless times to drag my 1-tonned ass out of the snow when I'm breaking trail. The only issue we've had with it is that it mostly just drags him around if there's no trees to tie to :D.

I don't think it pulls a ton of amps or I think it would have killed the stock battery/alt. on there. He's had it on there for like 3 years.

I was planning on buying one for my k5 until I misread the add for 4wheelparts on the banners on this site and ended up buying an m8000.

I think I'd take an 8274 over just about anything out there though, except for a gigglepin. Just can't beat the 150' of line that fits on the drum, and I swear they pull harder than 8000lbs when set up correctly.

Ive bought the 12k smitty to install on my truck, just havent gotten around to putting it on yet.

that is a t-max winch w a smittybilt name on it , same w the summitracing winchis, i have had 2 now. one i sold w my old truck. now i got one on my curent truck. i say nothing but good things about them. if you dont think it is a t-max just open it up, it will say it everywhere in it.

The only problem with the 8274 is cost. The new ones are almost 2K when you are said and done. No thanks. Might be able to find a used one but good luck.

The XRC 12's and XRC 10's are series wound motors. So they should be GTG unlike the permenant wound XRC 8's. But the XRC's have been getting good marks by the guys i have asked who have them so....

I agree that Warn is the leader in the industry but they are very proud of their products and their price reflects it. (rightfully so i might add) But still if you are on a budget and need something to pull you out of a jam than the XRC 10 and 12's are good for the money.
