I can't wait to start this new project.

1929 CHEVY 2dr sedan.

body wise i'm gonna chop about 5" out of it
channel it to the bottom of the frame rails
Z the rear with a 4 link with my 3.73 jeep axel
5" dropped i beam front with hairpins
350-465 with a skull knob
vw seats direct on the floor with my real tijuana(sp?) blanket
16 gallon k5 tank
grabber green steelies

done on the cheap.....:bow:
 
prolly be sold as a non-running project 5 years from now. ;)

I'm waiting for pic's at each phase of project...
 
this one will be running my years end if not sooner.

i love the new job, after paying all my bills my whole 2nd check is play money.
 
cool beans. :) its very nice when more pay rolls in. My wife recently doubled her take home pay and got better benes at the same time. Really makes a difference in the ol' bank account. Now I just need to try to save some instead of blowing it all on the truggy. :grin:

Any updates on this im more of a 30-31 model A guy but i love rat rods. Lets see some pics of what u got

that just doesn't make sense to me......but I love the rat rods. way to go brother.

Not really in the rat rod category but I am going to get another VW Fasty and make a volksrod.:D As soon as I find a suitable shell I plan on giving it a 3-4" chop. Suicide doors. Drop the front pretty low. Of course it will be painted Blitz Black and red rims to finish the look. I figure that will piss of some of the VW purists down here. :haha:

Post up some pics when you build it. I'd like too see before, durring, and after pics of that.

That looks like it would be allot of fun. You do relies that the pancake 6 and tranny from a Porsche will swap into a VW bug very easily. HHhhmmm, I do believe there are a ton of performance goodies for the Porsche pancake 6 too. Now that's a idea.
 
I got that from the speedway motors website. They make the kit to put in the dropped I-beam front
 
Yes something like that. I've always wanted to build a bug like that, or more like this.

oh, a karmangheia(sp?) I wish I had pics of the one i saw at a show this year. Full cage, tubbed, and blown big block. It was pretty sweet
 
Kind of like a Karmann Ghia. That yellow car is a Type III Fastback. Which is just like the Squareback wagons, and notchbacks. It originally looked something like this:

Fasty's are kind of like the redheaded step children of the VW world. Everyones got bugs of vans. But you dont really see alot of nice type 3s.

Oh really???Just so happens my Brother put a 440 in one when he was in highschool, still has it too...;)

Well, if ya want help, you know I live in the same town you do! :D

Personally I always wanted to get a late 30's to early 50's land yacht and slam it to the ground, chop the top, 500 Caddy, etc.
 
Well, I think I found the car! I'm waiting on some pics and some more info on a 69 Fasty. Hopefully I'll be doing some chopping soon! :D
