paint the mounting surface? I wouldn't use the bedliner just some POR15.

If POR15 leaves a smooth surface, put it on the wheel mounting surface but not the axle mounting surface.

Do you mean don't paint the surface against the rotor? Is that a concern?38377k5 said:

I would paint everything that will see exposure to the elements.
I wouldn't paint the mating surface between the hub and axle itself (that is a FF axle hub, right?)

It's a front D44 hub...
Basically, you're not going to hurt anything by painting it. You could have issues with sealing against painted surfaces. Paint can run and be uneven, the bare machined surfaces should be damn near perfect.
