I'm curious what the gas milage is for an 84 K3500, dually, with a 6.2 showing 120K on the clock. A guy is saying he gets 25 MPG. Can any of you diesel guys out there confirm that?

Any sites out there that list EPA milage for older rigs?

Thanks,

Eric M.

Even if you did find it I think there are too many variables to tell for sure... plus with 120k on the clock it's hard to know how hard it's been flogged on.

Yeah, god point. But 120K isn't much for a 6.2 from what I hear. Maybe I'll post this in the diesel forum. How about this:

What are you guys with diesels getting for milage? Give me truck size (Blazer, Burb, 1/2, 3/4 or 1 ton) gears, tire size and miles on engine.

Thanks,

Eric M.

Good point, I'm not sure why I'm even bothering ... maybe I'm just bored.

Rough math as the speedo is way off but around 15mpg. J-code 6.2L, TH400, 4.56's and 38" tires. Miles are around 53k but unsure of the hours. I'm sure it spent more time idling in the motor pool than driving.

The diesel half tons with OD are famous for getting 20 or higher. However the heavier 3/4 and 1 tons would be hard put to do that, especially without OD.

about 8 in town, but 16 on the highway at 60. 6.2, th350, 60/14, 4.56, 42" tsl.

Claims of 20-25mpg out of a 6.2 aren't unheard of, but its normally regular cab, 2wd, half ton, 700r4 trucks.

Eh, heard of it in K5's with 4x4...but with the world infamous 3.08 gears and 235/75R15 tires.

My dad's 3/4ton 2wd th400 410 gears got 15. Loaded unloaded. City highway, didn't matter. All the way up to 315k
