I thought you were supposed to be able to push down and turn counter clockwise for the shifter to come out, but it aint budging. Any tips?

Any Tips On Removing An SM465 Shifter?

I typcially use two pairs of needle nose pliers, you can put a lot more downward force on it with them than with your bare fingers. Also allows you to rotate them a bit easier
