We got wifey a 2017 Highlander 3.5 AWD and it has a subtle wuhmp wuhmp wuhmp noise while driving that honestly sounds like a bad tire. I was investigating a little bit today and put the vehicle on stands and put it drive and brought it up to around 50-60 mph. I'm not sure at what speed it actually freaked out, but now the safety BS is throwing fits on the dashboard. 'Lane assist alert malfunction' and 'pre-collision avoidance malfunction' keep alternating on the display, in conjunction with 'please see your dealer'. Is that my only course of action or is there a backdoor into the system to reset that shizz?

I had a friend do that same thing. Was looking for a vibration. Was on a fully loaded Tundra. Dealer told him that the computer mandates movement responces form the sensor. If it does not get any, the computer flags errors in the sensors. He was told it was a dealer issue, unless you have the equipment to reset them.

Well, an hour at the dealer and a hundred bucks more poorer....

45 minutes waiting and 15 minutes with tech.

I didn't read the receipt but pretty much what @ktmoutfront said.
