Anybody bought Hood Hinges?

Has anyone bought aftermarket hood hinges....what did you think about them?

aftermarket $30 each

GM $100 each

everything I can find on the internet says that the "GM" hinges even from reputable dealers are crap...seems the consensus is to have your originals rebuilt....

I bought some and they were cheapo piles of crap! Rebuild is only way IMO

where do you get them rebuilt and how much$?.

I got some gm ones from gm parts direct. They seam to be ok

I rebuilt my own and they are still working. No more wobble or side to side movement. I drilled out my old rivots. Went down to steel yard and picked up a small piece of round stock that was a little smaller than the hole left by factory rivots. I cut it to length leaving about 1/4" extra on each end, arced a rod to one end so I could hold on to it while heating it (imagine a marshmallow on a stick). heated it up to glowing red, manipulated it into place, and pressed it from both ends in my press. I practiced on an old hood hinge before hand. Worked great.
