that's some humpy schit.... :eek1: :doah:

I'm thinking I'm gonna do a floor, and back panel for the dog, out of the composite fiberglass I use... than indoor/outdoor carpet both... the floor is gonna have to be about 5" or 6" up or so it looks like by the time I box it out...

yeah, the b-pillar back is what I'm interested in... it's got those 2 big humps.. I'll box it out with the fiberglass... the marine carpet glues nice to it too... I'll do the divider wall with expanded...

I must be crazy, the interior is going black... black carpet and a shep... I'll be grooming and vacuuming every day! :haha:

Cut the floor out and make it flat :pimp:

thats what i was thinking too. thats what i did on my blazer and pro bably what ill do in my cc just cuz itll be easier to mount different seats in it

don't think it hasn't crossed my mind... ;)

the most it can be down is a long weekend...

I will look at it when I get it to see how well that lays out... what it does underneath space-wise, etc... it may not be worth the effort...

I want the backwall carpet, so fiberglass would be good for that... whether the floor is steel or fiberglass box, it will be carpeted too... I'll do a removable, bordered snap-in one like we have on the boats... that way it can be pulled and washed...

we knocked my floor out in like an hour a side. so if your prepared you could knock it out quick but i think either way will work. im sure your good with fiberglass so itll look good no matter what.

I'm doubting it'd be a couple hrs, it's not replacing/repairing it, I've done a million of those...

it's custom stuff, even well planned, ya more than likely run into a hiccup or 2..

well if your going to build something like that yeah more than a few hours. just putting flat pieces of steel in and maybe bracing it which youd probably have to do that shouldnt take onger than a few hours. easily have it done in a day if your just making it flat.

i dont see how it culd take more than a weekend to make your floor flat in the back. plasma the floor out get 4x8 sheet of steel cut it, weld it, brace it if needed, then glue the carpet or whatever your going to do. worst case if it does take more than a weekend leave it steel for a week.

you act like it's a single piece of metal... your probably looking at 4 pieces, at a minimum... cutting, grinding and fitting them... and you'd be surprised what it's like grafting in 1/8 plate into factory sheetmetal and not have it look like some cobbled together thing...... I don't do cobbled... there's no flat cut to that factory floor that wouldn't require some degree of metalwork....

your not talking about a 2' x 2' patch, we're talking nearly 6' x probably 3'.... that also requires far more support than you may think or that sh*t will be wavy as he!!... it's lost all it's strength thru it's curves.. unibody does have it's advantages.....

in reality, I had also considered going the other way with it.. remove the floor, but still have it boxed off at the height the fiberglass floor would be at.. losing cabin space... it may actually be a better height for the dog and the windows... and it would be easier to build...

but more importantly what space that opens up below and it's possible utilization...

Was looking at the pics, is the floor got some of that shape to clear the saddle tanks. If so you would have to do a raised floor to make it flat, and it still wouldn't be that easy. I'm with you Ryoken that is more then a few hour job.

Paul leave it alone first. Get it running and driving and registered.

Then start redoing it.

From the looks of you Blazer you cant just slap in a piece of steel and call it good. Which is not a bad thing. As much as how cool your blazer is with all the amazing things you have done. There are only a select few who have ever seen it. With it sitting in your dungeon on stands that number is not getting any larger.

Just don't start another serious project I guess is what I am saying.

I get what you are thinking...but our dog likes the back seat in our duramax just like it is,he can see out the windows good and we can use it. :dunno:
