I ran one for a while, outlaw612 has it now. It held up fine, a buddy of mine off the boards here welded it with 6011 rods. He welded the whole darn thing.

Ryan welded his too... He drives it around town and on the highway. Can't be too bad I guess. He does have a lockright in the front also (I think its fulltime 4wd setup too)

Re: Anybody runnin\'a Welded 12b???

I welded mine a year ago and so far I have not had any problems exept for accelerated tire wear. I have towed a Blazer on a trailer, I have pulled a broken down Heep 200 miles with a towbar, I have wheeled it and until 2 weeks ago this was also my daily driver(got me a little Cherokee now for the daily stuff). My spiders and carrier has been welded together. I need to mention that most of the driving I have done was before I had my 454/sm465/NP205 combo installed, my truck feels very strong now and I'm not sure the 12 bolt will last much longer.

Re: Anybody runnin\'a Welded 12b???

the first two go arounds I tried to weld the axle gears to the the carrier and then the spiders to the axle gears, with my 110 linclon mig welder. It was kinda funny to watch the spider gear get shot throught the diff cover. this time I took the the carrier out of the axle and had a fried with a 220 stick do the job. 4 lbs of 6011 and its holding up fine..oh I never did replace the spiders just welded the axle gears to the carrier.
