anybody tow with a 6.0?

im looking at buying a '99 Silverado 2500 with a 6.0 in it. fully loaded x-cab shortbed, leather and everything. just curious on the towing ability of the 6.0 vs a 92-98 K2500 with a 5.7 in it. i dont tow alot, but enough i'd like to have a truck with enough umph to pull something if the need arrises.

Make sure it has the 4.10 gears. Very good towing combo.

It will do fine as a DD. Milage will not be that good, even if it had 3.73's. I would bet nothing more than 14 and 11 around town.

I just bought a '05 2500HD 4x4 with the 6.0. Xtended cab shortbed with 4.10. I hooked up my jeep and trailer. Approx 5500#'s. This truck tows better then my '00 3500 5.7 and '99 sub 7.4 ever did. Solo I get 15 highway, and 10-12 city. The truck only has 1200 miles so far so these numbers should get better. I am amazed at how much power this truck has.

I tow my K5 with my 05 2500HD and I don't have any problems at all. It does have 4.10's. I used to tow with a older ford diesel and i'd rather have my 05 than that noisey old thing. and around town it has plenty of power to have fun with the ricer's!!
