Some loser tried to steal my 85 Sub and trashed the column, tumbler etc.

Found a few theft repair kits on eBay for around $40 and was wondering if anyone has used these?

Does it have everything I need? How easy is it to do?

Do you have a link to an auction? Never heard of a repair kit, I can't imagine it comes with a new plastic "bowl" section, those have always been a pain to get.

Need to get a steel column guard.

Interesting. That is a good price then.

Wonder if someone is remaking the bowls. Glad to see those are getting easier to replace, at least I hope they are!

agreed,

if he gets it, can you post some pics of the bowl, I want to see the quality

Ordered it today so I'll take pictures when it gets here.

Now I have to find instructions on how to do this somehwere.

I've searched the web and haven't found anything yet.

Maybe it'll be easier once i have all the parts laid out.

There is a writeup on here on how to tighten the columns up, I believe that gets you as deep into the column as you'll need. Actually, there are tons of writeups all over the web, sloppy tilt column's are real common in the trucks.

Got the kit today. I'll try to take pictures this weekend if anyone is interested.

The bowl appears to be a casted replica of the factory one.

Could be me but it seems to be better quality than the original. The original feels like a flimsy, brittle pastic while the replacement seems to be more sturdy and feels like a PVC type plastic.
