Seems like 4 links and beadlocks are getting out of hand. everybody has to have the new whiz bang part that doesn't get you any further down the trail.

anybody wheeling simple stuff?

anybody have some pics of basic rigs that you don't plan on changing?

These old trucks are the definition of simple...

With that said, My old SAS'd S10 using leafs and Jeep YJ axles. Simple, cheap, very effective.

My current K5 with it's stock suspension and 33s.

And in it's current state. Which still falls under the definition of "simple".

I agree that the majority of trucks on here are still not high dollars as far as suspension. One of my buddies, $500K5 , has only a 1" body lift, a zero-rate up front and 2" block in the rear. He installed drop-in lockers front and rear, then custom bumpers with fender trimming. It goes lots of places, even did the Trifecta at BB'12.

wheeled my ol K5 for a few years, pretty well stock/built out of junkyard parts.

This crossed my mind when I was standing in the driveway this AM with my parents nitwit labs and my APBT. I had more fun in my 95 Z-71 with 33in M/Ts compared to my 90 Burb with a 454 and 40in Boggers. My Burb is still "simple", but its just a maintenance nightmare compared to my Z-71. And it breaks 10 times as much.

Hell Im still wheelin/Daily driving my k5 with 10 bolts and 37s..No crossover steering, no 14bff, no beadlocks, no 4 link...guess i dont wheel hard enough to break too much. I do a have 14sf for when something does break though. I do have a set of nice bilstiens, but thats it.

Beadlocks get me "further down the trail"...but they're homemade so maybe that's special?
I'm running stock springs just rearranged. Most of my modifications involve removing sheetmetal and welding. Fanciest thing is probably my steering, which is junkyard parts and a steering arm.

I wheeled my stock k5 with bald 33 mall terrains back in high school. Really good times except those tires were patched all to hell by the time i retired them. For me longer leafs, 1 tons, 37s and breadlocks are all going on very soon and thats all I want to do. Atleast if I bend a leaf its a trip to a junkyard and not an expensive deal. Simple is sometimes better.

Did you have another tab open on a different forum and accidentally post here???

Just got it last weekend, haven't really driven in, only around the block. But pretty simple, 84 3/4t GMC, crate 350, 4-speed/205, 10 bolt front and 14sf rear, not sure of gears, sorta feels like 4.10s, but didn't have it in 4th yet. Has unknown 4" lift, thinking maybe Rancho or Rough Country cause it is stiff as hell!!!! So stiff it broke the frame and rear cab mounts. But just got some 38.5" boggers on 12" old school Eagles for cheap, so out cometh the sawzall for fender clearance. Gonna leave it like that for a bit, eventually change the springs out for something that actually springs....no pics yet, wifey don't know bout it yet.....:D
