Anyone do LS Swaps, in Nor-Cal?

Heres the deal.... Im pulling the C-10's 402/TH400, and swapping an LS motor in.

I need to find a shop that does it, or I could pay one of you to do it.
But, for damn sure, I aint doin' it. :haha:

So, if anyone knows a reputable shop, im all ears.


Also.... Before anyone complains, UDS took off;
Now, i need a good mileage, Overdrive, truck for deliveries.
Not a hot rod.

Why not just get what you have running? For the cost of the swap you could buy a lot of gas....

6mpg, no overdrive, 2,400 stall (non-lockup) converter..... 346 mile round trip....
Times 50 or so trips.

I have a TON of orders, 173 miles away, that need delivered.
I dont have an alternative.

However, i do have the finances lined up and a good donor truck. :whistle:

And at 13 mpg, my Tundra is costing me over $80 per trip.
Not to mention the miles its putting on my wifes truck.
 
Its a 402, backed by a th400.... Whats the BEST mileage I could possibly see?
Whatever it is, its worse than my tundra.

LS is more reliable, better mileage, i can have overdrive, etc.
Its not a debate, just looking for a good shop.

I wanna drop off a powertrain-less truck, and drive home a modern-classic.
 
Also...

If I pick up a truck for 3,500.
Pull the guts, and sell the rest.
Then, sell my 402/400.

I stand to have a $2000 powertrain... Steal.
Then, whatever for the install/tune.
 
Still too low, plus all the trans heat.... No bueno.
There is NO downside to an LS/4l60 swap.

The hot rod powertrain is going.
 
Which LS do you want to put in? Z06 camed 5.3?

I would go Pacific Fab like everyone suggested already. I have always liked their trucks. The pictures of the swaps I have seen from them are stupid clean

Im gonna buy Chris'-Dad's truck, and pull the 6.0/4l60.
Then, drop it off at Pac Fab.

I guess when you make enough money, advertising is null.
Because i couldnt find a damn thing about them, whilst googling LS swap shops.
Never came up.

They moved to Gilroy, the fab shop moved, the auto repair shop is still in Mohill.
