Im sure my '84 Blazer could stand to have the body mounts upgraded. Has anyone done a how to or 101 on them. I know there are areas that are trickier than others and maybe some hidden bolts and any secrets to the whole process. Im sure many others could benefit from this kinda knowledge (pics help too).

Thanks

Like the brackets or just the bushings?

Its really not difficult. Just bust the bolts loose on each side and jack the body up and replace. Cross your fingers for no seized bolts you you'll be cutting holes in the floor to get at the trapped nuts.

pretty much like what stomis said.spray down and clean the bolts under the nuts holding the body for a couple days before trying to loosen them.the front end is seperate from the main body and i took my front clip off to get to them easier.they hold up the radiator core and everything up front.i got under that and the frame with a 2x4 to lift the rad core enough to pull the bushing and put the new ones in.the main body you just loosen all the nuts on one side at a time and i used a scissor jack between the body and frame to push up the body enough to get the bushings out.i also had to grind off the weld on the upper side of the body where the factory tacked the bolt to the body.my truck is a 72 so maybe they didnt do that in later years.pull the bolt out 1 at a time on the mount.put the new bolt through and put the new bushings in place on the 3 mounts on that side.take out the jack and tighten down the bolts.in my case i had to retack the bolts in place so they wouldnt spin up top.do the same on the other side and make sure the mounts are centered on both sides of the mounts and body.re torque and go driving and should ride much better.i replaced mine with new energy suspension bushings and is a much better ride and should last longer than the stock rubber ones.if i missed something sorry but that outa be it.
