Anyone done the ck5 quick release door hinges??

I never got around to doing mine yet , I cut the wires , added bullet connectors , and just stopped there .

Anyways , I was just drilling the coupler of my new trailer a little larger to replace the pin with a pad lock , and was wondering why are we all drilling our pins when we could probably find one ( or maybe a bolt that fits the hinge ) at a hardware store ?

I tried. At two different places. I found THE perfect one. Almost. at Orchard. It even came with the quick release pin and the hole and was about the right length. BUT it was too thick . It's pretty hard to find just the right one. Next time I take the doors off I'm gonna drill the bushings out a little so the pin will slide easier.

I could see making the big holes bigger is easier than making a little hole in a round pin , at least easier for those of us without a drill press and a holding it fixture .

I have a ? for all with quick release door hinges.
How hard is it to take the quick release pins out of the hinges to remove the doors?

The mini hitch pin things? Those come out easy, the door hinge pins are a pain to get out though but its way harder getting them back in.
I have two options right now to make this easier easily. I could drill bigger holes in the bushings which would be easy but there's little material to get rid of, or I could grind down all of the pin which would take longer and hard to get it right but there's a lot more material so if I make a mistake it's no big deal. Also, anyone in CA know if it's illegal to drive on the street doorless? Or if you have to have both mirrors?

Ok its legal (as in the vehicle code doesnt say anything) to have the doors off in CA, but you need mirrors or I think at least one side mirror and a rearview mirror

Check my other post for napa part # for longer hinge pins!

Yeah I saw that I wouldve done that if I'd known but it probably wouldn't make too much difference being longer. I was thinking it would be way easy having one really long one that goes thru both but there wouldnt be room to slid it thru. Maybe 4 short ones for each door (one for each hole)? I dunno for now its fine I think
