Anyone else running rs9000 with a 4\" lift..in particular rs99001?!

What is rancho thinking?! Im ticked. These shocks have a full extended reach of 20 3/4 which is about 3" shorter than any other brand of shock for a 4" lift. I put them on my 4" lift and there is only about 1-2" max of travel that the wheel can go down. Up is no problem as there is about 5" of travel that way. If my tire falls in a pothole it will break the eye off. I thought the whole purpose of a lift is to have wheel travel.
I'll assume im missing something. These shocks are not cheap, cant return them and rancho tech support is no help.

You're missing the Ford towers upgrade that everyone does here. Do a search. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Forget it. Rancho can kiss my trailer hitch. Watch for these shocks on ebay. Your chance to pick up some rs9000's really cheap.

The ford towers would have to be mounted 2"-3" below the bottom of the fram to make these shocks work. 20 3/4" fully extended for a 4" lift?! What a joke. From center eyebolt on my driveshaft to center eyebolt on my frame is 20"!!

I took some old advice and bought Doetsch shocks that have the right travel. I hope I dont regret it.

Rancho lost my business. Im not buying anything from them ever again.
