just wondering if anyone as ever both some body pannels from LMC truck catalog,I'm want to buy short box side pannels, ordered body pannels from other companies before just to have body filler put on them to fix the dents and scratchs from shipping???Is lmc better then other companies?

Try checking around locally to try and find where the body shops buy their parts. Just a thought, might save you some money on shipping. A lot of info can be found thru google. That is what I would do.
Tarey

So far I've ordered a bedside and a complete clip minus the hood from lmc and both times there was at least one dented panel. Not to bad either time but I think they're all made overseas and shipped. I think all the aftermarket companies are close?

LMC like most other companies gets their panels made overseas, so dents and dings are part of the deal. I have seen hoods and other parts ordered from different companies, and it seems like everyone had at least one dent or ding on it.

the LMC bedsides are very thin and wavy we spent alot of time ironing them out before using them . I wont use them again unless i just absoltely cant find a decent original bed

try napa i get parts from them, almost the same price as lmc, and you open the box in front off them if theres a problem, just don,t take it,or get a lower price if not to dented.

Old post but for future information - I have had pretty good luck with Certifit for inner fenders. There is one local so shipping is not an issue. Although, I have not used them for body panels.

The upside to the LMC floor pans being thin is that you can easily form them with a hammer to fit since the fit isn't great. The down side to them being thin is everything else.

I got floors and rockers from LMC the flors are kinda thin the rockers werent horible. When you caint find gm parts beggers caint be choosers I guess.

Yes LMC parts are thin but same as most aftermarket panels. The only comparable to factory is yearone or classic industries. some of these companies bought original dies and also use same gauge sheet metal

I haven't had luck with my classic industries core support. It fell apart only 6 months after installing.

The yearone is real good quality. So is Classic Parts Of America. I have both on my truck.

LMC is real paper thin stuff.

As for dents in brand new parts there are no way of getting around them i work in a body shop and i find dents in booth aftermarket and original manufacture parts its just careless storage and shipping.

Lmc parts

I own a body shop in california and have done alot of business with lmc over the years. The only down fall i see is the shipping...

These are the bed sides I got from LMC! I did NOT order the "pre-crashed" series bedsides!!!!:eek1:

I was not in the shop the day they arrived but when I open that box that little vien in my head "popped"! They did offer to replace them but they forgot to ship them out and I just canceled the order and they refunded the money right away. My advice... Dont buy panels that have to be shipped! I'm still looking for bed sides today but I want to "cash-N-carry" them!

"gmc truck" you might want to try car-part.com . They are a auto parts recycler web site. You can look up the part you need and find a recycler in your state or city. I would rather use a oem used part than a a/m part anytime.

Im happy with LMC

I just received a patch panel for my passenger side quarter panel. After ordering, I saw this tread and was worried. Now that I have the peice, I am happy. Metal seems to be same thickness as original and no dent. Just holding the peice up to the panel it looks like it will fit without too much fitting issues. It is however a small peice (14''x36'').
