Wow i must say, nothing but a huge azz headache. 1st i hooked it up and it ran real good, then one day just cranks, that was the vaporizer seat. I fixed that and it ran good but not perfect, i had the vac hoses wrong, fixed them and it turns over 10 times when cold and fired up directly when hot. So then i bought a digital air fuel guage with a heated 02. I had the carb all tuned in real good.....moved the vaporizer next to the carb, throttle response is real snappy, it runs excellent.:D Timing was at 14 and the air fuel numbers are 16 at idle and in 15s underload, couldnt ask for much better.

Today i found a leak, fixed it and i only cranks. Checked the lockoff, strainer and there all good. It drove me nuts, i checked for spark and thats good, so i tried either, it fired right up and ran on propane. I tried the primer on the vaporizer and that made it fire right up, 3xs i did that then i just bumped the key and it starts easily (damn gremlins..lol).But the 1st time started air fuel numbers were crazy, the next 4times they are the same.... That thanks to fixing a small vac leak(pin hole). So thats where im at lol..half of these headaches are because of mistakes....:doah:....so now ill have to see how it runs tom afternoon, retune the carb and adjust the timing.

While i was reading I was ready to tell you to check for vacuum leaks...

A buddy had weird issues with his and it all came down to a vacuum leak...

Then at the end you came across it...:D

That's usually the problem with propane... It's stupid easy otherwise...

I love mine...

still not totally right tho, ive been messing with it for weeks, thats what i get for buying used i guess. Ive bought all new except for the carb. Ive replaced the x-1 with a woodward n-420 since the x-1 had a bad seal and the parts were as much as a new one.

The clamps on the hoses are a plus ive found out, they have helped alot.

What propane parts do you have..? mixer/evap..?

Mine seems to run good, the air fuel is a little rich but it runs decent. Just cold i have to use the primer button.

I might eventually try that setup if mine ever has the trouble ive had. I went elec lockoff to conserve space. The x450 seems to have enuf for my wild sbc.

How do you guys have them mounted, Where did you put the model e...? I put my woodward n-420 on the inner fender along with the lockoff/filter, the hose is rather long tho. I tried mounting it on the intake but it took too much heat soak.
