Anyone ever try this?

I am working on the rusted out tailgate section of my truck. I tore everything apart and found out that I needed to replace the two rear top body mounts (rubbers). After talking to a few guys I know, I came up with using hockey pucks. They are made of something close to polyurethane and cost alot less.

Anyone else ever try it? Let me know how long they lasted. I have already installed them, so I will post a report again.

I know people have used them for body lifts, not sure how proper that is though

HOCKEY PUCKS RULE!!
I used them on my 76 and made a 1" body lift. A buck a piece!! I have used them for cheap body mounts. They work fine. BUT they don't have the steel shells that the factory ones do. They will NOT insulate the body from vibrations, But if that don't matter, I say Use them!!

I have heard that they will split over time and fall out. I guess you could put a big hose clamp around them to reinforce them.

I guess over time, that could happen. But on the other hand, Most the time when I use them, It's BECAUSE the factory rubber split and fell out anyways!!

I've split two hockey pucks. One got spit out. That wasn't cool, so I went to urathane.
