Anyone ever use Herculiner on wheels?

I'm wanting to paint my wheels black this spring, but I'm not sure that any regular spray paint will hold up to the mud and muck the wheels see. My buddy had a local powdercoater do his wheels black on his DD, and they're already chipping just from driving it on the street.

So has anyone ever used Herculiner for painting their wheels? How well do you think it will hold up if they are scuffed up and primed well first?

I can say the swingarm of one of my dirtbikes is herculinered. Its been beat to $hit and holds strong, lots of woods riding (roots, rocks etc...). I was concerned about mud sticking to it, it doesnt (I hit it with wd40 anyways). Washes off real easy to. I would have to believe that if prepped properly will work great.

That's what I was thinking. I've seen people use it for just about everything else, so I don't see why I shouldn't give it a shot. My buddy is about to herculine his racks on his 4 wheeler since the factory paint chipped. I'm tempted to buy another gallon of it and do the bottom half of my Jimmy with it too, where all my surface rust and rock chips are.

A GOOD powder coat job should not chip like that. I would look into a different powder coat shop.

I would be worried about balancing

That crossed my mind this morning when I was thinking about it. The weight from that stuff would be too much and could possibly affect the balancing. I guess I'll just try a good rattle can job. See what we come up with.

I used rustolem (sp?) gloss black on mine, and it held up great, as said, if powdercoated right, you can't take it off without serious work, so i'd say the guy just did a chittay job.
